"so that future generations might know"
“…He (God) commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments”
Psalm 78:5-7
Generation Next is a two-year initiative to propel Antioch Baptist Church into the future. By renovating and updating our children’s ministry space, we can prepare our building – not only for the children here now, but for the families God has yet to bring to us. Our new fellowship hall will make it even easier for our multigenerational church family & community to do life together.
IT IS TIME
It is time for Antioch Baptist Church to prepare for the future! God has blessed our intergenerational community church with many young families and dozens of preschool-aged children. Our outdated church building is inadequate for the growth we are experiencing. Not only that, our neighborhood has many more children, families, and single mothers we have yet to serve. We are raising $1.2 million over and above our regular giving to create new safe and secure children’s ministry spaces, develop a larger fellowship hall, and improve our platform for community outreach.
FOR THE COMMUNITY
We have always celebrated intergenerational community at Antioch. Our new fellowship hall will make this easier than ever. We can better accommodate church events as well as serve our surrounding community by hosting ministry partner events, local community meetings, birthday parties, and more. By updating and modernizing this space, we can better be a light on this hill, as we have been for nearly 150 years already!
FOR THE GENERATIONS
We want our children’s area to reflect the quality of our programming. We want to create a ministry space that is every bit as excellent as the ministry we already do. Our investment in classrooms, restrooms, sprinklers, and security features will help us disciple children in a quality environment. Our investment in a safe and secure children’s environment will help us serve our families for years to come and will make our space more attractive to families who visit us for the first time. Children aren’t just the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today!
Over the next two years, we are believing God that every person in the Antioch Family will pray, work, and sacrifice so that our children and a generation not yet born can grow up here to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and that Antioch would be a light to this community. Lori and I plan to lead the way. We are praying for God to use us to do something that is bigger than we could ever imagine. I promise you we are going to obey his call. I invite you to join us in making Generation Next a reality!
